Irish Genealogy Core Service Package - $325

This package offers a thorough introduction to your Irish roots, tailored to your family’s unique story. Most projects involve 10-20 hours of research and are priced based on the complexity of your family history and geographic scope. All research is conducted within the guidelines included in the Genealogical Proof Standard (GPS) put forth by the Board for Certification of Genealogists, outlined as follows:

1. Reasonably exhaustive research.

2. Complete and accurate source citations.

3. Thorough analysis and correlation.

4. Resolution of conflicting evidence.

5. Soundly written conclusion based on the strongest evidence.

What’s Included:

● Initial Consultation (30 - 60 minutes)

I will begin with a conversation to understand your goals - whether you’re building a family tree, verifying nationality, or researching a specific ancestor. Then I’ll review any existing materials and set expectations for the scope and timeline.

Deliverable: Written summary outlining objectives, scope, and a timeline for the final report (PDF).

● Family Tree Research (Up to 3 Generations)

I will aim to identify two to three generations back from your Irish immigrant ancestor - parents, grandparents, and (if possible) great-grandparents - using census data, civil and church records, immigration files, and online databases such as Ancestry, FamilySearch, and MyHeritage.

Deliverable: A four-generation family tree chart in PDF format, along with full source citations. The family tree chart will be in the same format put forth by the National Genealogical Society (NGS). It will be as complete as possible within the limitations of Irish genealogical research outlined above.

● Document Retrieval (Up to 5 Records)

This includes digital copies and summaries of available birth, marriage, death, immigration, or military records relevant to your family line. I strive to use free and publicly accessible sources wherever possible; however, some documents may require access fees or government archive charges.

Optional Add-On: Additional records available for a supplemental fee. Any out-of pocket document fees will be discussed in advance.

● Research Summary Report

You’ll receive a detailed narrative of your family’s story, complete with a timeline of key life events and discussion of any gaps or open questions that may warrant future research. The report will include accurate genealogical source citations in line with those outlined by the Board for Certification of Genealogists. A sample research report is available on request. Deliverable: PDF report.

● Recommendations for Next Steps

Based on what we find, we’ll offer suggestions for expanding your research. This may include deeper ancestral lines, focused regional research, DNA testing, or strategies for preserving your family history (e.g. digitizing old letters or family photos).
